A 67 page softcover booklet originally published in 1906 to explain Mary Boole's famous curve-stitching and math-art techniques.
This particular copy is a rare American edition from around the 1940s, photographically reproduced in Chicago by the educational activist Mrs. W. F. Dummer so American teachers could use the method in their classrooms.
Contains a preface by Mary Boole, step-by-step instructions on how to create geometric designs using colourful threads and full-page illustrations which display the final stitched mathematical curves.
With a red pen inscription from a previous owner. Close rusting, minimal but present, to the staples. Slightly bumped corners. Creasing very common to the blue thick-paper covers. Some very slight rippling through the pages as if mild water damage has occurred at some point. Internally bright and clean.
