Compiled by W. Y. Evans-Wentz and rendered by Lāma Kazi Dawa-Samdup, this is a Western presentation of the Bardo Thödol. It serves as a sacred guide to the intermediate state, or bardo, between death and rebirth, offering spiritual instructions meant to be read aloud to the dying or deceased. The book has several plates and illustrations.

Incredibly rare with a dust jacket, especially in such near-pristine condition. At a glance it is like-new, but on closer inspection it has been used as a resting board for someone note taking and some writing marks are slightly visible, but not a major issue by any means. Price-clipped and has some tape stains to the page opposite the cover, same at the back. First page also features a previous owner-inscription dating from 1963.
Internally, apart from the tape stains and inscription, the book is practically new. I've never seen a copy from this series of beautifully illustrated Evans-Wentz Tibetan mysteries hardbacks in such near-pristine condition.
